DAY TRIP TO KEA & KYTHNOS

We start from Lavrio, our first stop is the island of Kea (Archaia Karthaia), walk or swim with a view of the ancient monuments and the town, then continue our route to Kythnos for sightseeing and go back to Lavrio at sunset.

DESCRIPTION

Our departure starts in Lavrio. When everyone is set, we’ll leave Lavrio behind us with our powerboat and head southeast towards our first stop; Kea or Tzia. Kea is perfect for a relaxing swim or a nice walk in the island to see the ancient temples of Apollo and Athena. After you will have enjoyed your day in the island of Kea, we’ll sail south to Kythnos. You’ll notice the traditional white and blue houses, a distinctive cue of the Cyclades. Not only this, you’ll also experience the typical stepped narrow streets. Kythnos offers several choices of natural bays or organized beaches with sparkling crystal waters. Subsequently after your stay in Kythnos, our captain will collect you from the port where you left the powerboat and sail back safely to Lavrio, enjoying the sunset at sea with your family or friends.

ITINERARY
Kea Island
Also known as Tzia, Kea is the island of two ancient temples dated in 500-530 BC dedicated to Athena and Apollo Pythios. The latter, was the most important sacred building of the ancient city-state, according to ancient manuscripts.
Kythnos Island
This island can be claimed as one of the oldest known habitations in the Cycladic islands, a Mesolithic settlement in 10000 BC. Excavations indicate a long-term settlement, probably of hunter-gatherers. Kythnos is notable for its winding and often stepped and narrow streets.
Cape Sounio
Noted for the Temple of Poseidon on top of the headland surrounded by sea on three different sides. Sunset at Cape Sounio is a must for every that everyone that visits.
Lavrio Port
Blue Label Club’s departing point. Lavrio was famous in antiquity for its silver mines, mainly used for making coinage. The Archaeological Museum of Lavrion shows much of the story of these mines.

THINGS TO HAVE & KNOW
Clothing
Boat trips can have a lot of temperature variations. It can be cold early in the morning and very warm around noon. you should always carry a light jacket with you, one you can easily carry with you all the time.
Footwear
During the excursion and while you are on the boat you should wear a pair of clean, flat shoes, best with a rubber sole to avoid slipping if wet. As the excursions may include some walking or hiking (depending on your schedule) you should try to find something comfortable that will fit all needs. You can also carry a pair of flip-flops to facilitate your beach excursions.
